From the top of the glamorous and esoteric world of beauty pageants, to being featured on 20/20 and MasterChef, Collette Lochore, has shown what determination and attitude can achieve.
Collette's passion for speaking started during first year at Westlake Girls High, out of 3,000 students, Collette won.
Always an over-achiever, she excelled at sport. She ran cross country, captained softball and numerous netball teams, and played both representative netball and basketball. Netball though was really her passion. She played with some of today's top New Zealand netballers. She decided to stop playing netball at 17, when she had to make a hard decision between netball and Miss NZ.
She entered Miss World New Zealand at 17, won at 18 and less than 8 weeks later she was on a plane to represent NZ, at The Miss World pageant. She spent 5 weeks travelling around China with 120 others from around the world. The show was live to 2 billion people.
At 18 Collette started her own business, working closely with over 85 women all around New Zealand, helping them improve their confidence, self-esteem and develop skills, to improve self-motivation and attitude. Her company raised over $23,000 for various charities in just over a year. Collette also worked with young women with cerebral palsy, social and major physical conditions.
Collette also taught drama to the children at the Ronald McDonald House and teens at Variety the Children's Charity where she wrote the scripts, devised performances and sold tickets to raise money for charity. As the National Director of Miss Teen NZ she went to Texas to promote the New Zealand programme.
The media eventually noticed Collette and she was featured on 20/20, Good Morning, Breakfast, Seven Sharp, Women's Weekly feature, Woman's Day feature, 7 DAYS, Jono & Ben at 10, among others.
In 2013 Collette was asked to try her hand at "investigative journalism" with an undercover 20/20 sting that uncovered the "dark side" of the beauty business.
In 2014 Collette stepped up to the cameras again as competitors on MasterChef NZ, in a commercial kitchen, cooking for 185 people in Russell's historic Duke of Marlborough Hotel, Collette didn't win MasterChef NZ but certainly made her presence felt.
In 2016 she was featured, with award winning actress Scarlett Johansson in a commercial and again on the movie "Ghost in the Shell.
Collette currently works with Mediaworks in Wellington while studying for a double degree in Law, International Relations & Political Science.
She has a warm, relaxed style. Her keynote is all about attitude and belief in ones-self. Using her personal experiences, Collette talks about the highs and lows of achieving full potential.
Collette is an ideal choice for product launches where her positivity and MC skills can be tested fully. Fashion parades are of course an ideal environment also for Collette, who knows the business so well.
