Andy Hamilton

Andy is the former CEO of The Icehouse and is now a Director of its investment arm, Icehouse Ventures.

Andy is the former CEO of The Icehouse and is now a Director of its investment arm, Icehouse Ventures. He is also a Director of Hamilton Ventures a consulting and investment company with his family.

He is a director of UneeQ (a digital human company), a director of Auxilio Pharmaceuticals (medicinal CBD startup), an advisor to We Are Indigo (innovation agency), an advisor to Snap Rentals, an advisor to the Minister for Small Business, Stuart Nash and a supporter/mentor to a bunch of other startups and SMEs some of which pay him.

His investments include a few tech start-ups as well as Blue Frog Breakfast. Specialties: pattern matching, navigating the path forward for business owners and founders, networks and connections, investment

The Icehouse was founded back in 2001 to provide support and education to growing New Zealand businesses.

Since then The Icehouse has worked alongside over 2500 owner-managers of successful New Zealand businesses and 70 start-up businesses and facilitated about $50 million in angel investment and start-up funding to companies.

A few of the companies currently involved with The Icehouse include McKay Electrical, Future Products Group, M-Com and Nexus6  

As part of his role, Andy participated in a number of activities to assist building out New Zealand’s innovation system including:

 Prior to joining The Icehouse, Andy was CEO and Director of Inventure, Fletcher Building’s venture capital arm which he established in 1998 and before that he did a range of different things from a lawyer, to Executive Assistant, Retailer & Sales & Marketing Manager.
