Born in Lincoln, just out of Christchurch, Aaron was a pretty typical kiwi fella. Except for one thing. Instead of getting into rugby, 22 years ago he started dancing. New Zealand’s Billy Elliot.
Aaron took up Irish dancing, then at the age of 9, it was off to Ballroom and Latin American lessons. At first it took a bit of persuasion but he soon began to love it. For Aaron dance and movement was a passion. Sure he got hassled by the sporty kids at school but as Aaron started to win they started to take notice.
Aaron has travelled and represented New Zealand overseas, He has competed at the highest levels and for a time lived and danced in Australia and England.
Nowadays, Aaron is based in Auckland (just moved) and blessed with a beautiful family. Their support during 'Dancing with the Stars' was amazing and their reactions watching 'Dancing Dada' dance was a real camera catcher.
Basically, DWTS involved Aaron taking a celebrity and teaching her a new dance every week. Be a motivator, coach, confidant and counsellor while at the same time insisting on performance. Then it was judged live in front of 2 million viewers – AND you could be asked to leave.
Aaron is in great demand for his talents both community and business. The Children's Cancer Foundation, Parents Inc. and this Year Hospice New Zealand are just some of the organizations he has benefited. He has had the pleasure to meet and dance for them and he feels very privileged to could work with and continues to raise money for such worthy causes.
In May 2018, Aaron was chosen to partner Samantha Hayes on New Zealand's Dancing With the Stars. They won!
