In August 1996 David competed in and won the World Championship of Public Speaking in St Louis, Missouri, USA, becoming the first (Australian born) New Zealander in the 70+ year history of Toastmasters International to win the coveted award.. Winning the World Championship of Public Speaking from the Americans ha sbeen likened to winning the America's Cup from the Americans. It's possible but very very difficult. David accomplished wthis feat against all the odds and likes to share his dream with his audience. </body>
